4,000 Kilos of Possibility

During his latest trip to Portugal, Bas discovered a huge collection of deadstock fabrics originally produced for a major Parisian fashion house. Hundreds of colours, unexpected textures and plenty of ideas for what to make next.

"You never really know what you're going to find. That's what makes it so exciting.”

- Bas Timmer

This trip felt different from the moment I arrived.

I was more confident, partly because I knew where to go and who to call, but mostly because I had begun to build real relationships with the people making our clothes. There is a big difference between arriving at a factory as someone with a few ideas and arriving as someone who knows the team, understands the possibilities and can get straight to work.

Each week served a different purpose: the first was about getting our upcoming drops ready for production, while the second was about spending time in the studio, experimenting and making things. That combination was exactly what I needed. One week gave the business structure, while the other reminded me why I wanted a clothing brand in the first place.

Six unique hoodies, made with Cidália

ONE OF ONE

Bas worked with Cidália to create six one-of-a-kind zip-up hoodies, drawing inspiration from his original Sheltersuit design. Each piece features a high collar integrated into the hood, with contrasting panels and stitching.

The heavy cotton jersey, weighing 550 and 800 grams per square metre, wasn't easy to work with. Some seams required sewing through up to six layers of fabric. Needles broke, threads snapped and certain details had to be rethought along the way.

With Cidália's experience and craftsmanship, they worked through each challenge together, turning an experimental design into six unique pieces.
