No Show, Just People Helping People
We closed out Paris Fashion Week a little differently.
No runway, no flash. Just food, tunes, hot chocolate - and time together.
With the Sheltersuit Foundation, Utopia56, and a group of friends (including chefs and DJ), we hosted a community pop-up at Metro La Chapelle. We handed out 500 meals, gift bags, socks, hoodies, and eventually 50 Sheltersuits and Shelterbags to unhoused guests in the area. Some stayed for food and left quietly. Others hung out for hours.
In the lead-up to the 2024 Olympics, Paris was clearing out its encampments. Creating an unlivable city for people with nowhere else to go. We didn’t want to look away or pretend that fashion happens in a vacuum. So instead, we created space. For connection. For simple conversation.
The fashion world showed up too. Stylists, designers, and journalists came through. Some just stayed for coffee. Others asked what more they could do. Maybe this is what fashion looks like when it remembers who it's for.
That’s still the point.
